Lydia Adkins Simpson, 73, Edmonton, KY Lydia E. Adkins Simpson of Edmonton, formerly of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jesse Raymond Adkins and Lucille Elmore Adkins, was born on Saturday, July 14, 1951 in Louisville and departed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Norton's Downtown Hospital in Louisville. She was 73 years, 6 months, and 21 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Good News Gospel Church in Glasgow. She worked as a line worker for Fruit of the Loom and Amazon. She is survived by her husband: Junior Simpson of Edmonton, having united in marriage on December 20, 1986. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lois Simpson Estes and Tony of Edmonton; four grandchildren: Heather Boston, Kyle Boston both of Edmonton, Maria and JR White of Bowling Green, Whitney Estes and her partner Luke Butts of Edmonton; five great grandchildren: Kaleb Boston, Ruthie White, Brayton Butts, Everly White, Brinley Butts; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Kindra Adkins and Ricky and Linda Adkins both of Greensburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Dawson, Josie Adkins; five brothers: William Adkins, James Adkins, Jerry Adkins, Raymond Lewis Adkins, Patrick Adkins. The funeral services for Lydia Simpson will be conducted at 2pmCT Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Adkins-Elmore Cemetery. Bro. Robert Adkins and Bro. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Visitation is requested after 9:30amCT Sunday until time of the funeral service. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Adkins-Elmore Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
