Carolyn Jean Burton, 71, Columbia, KY (1953-2024) Carolyn Jean Burton of Columbia passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was 71 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT on Sunday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Adair County on January 6, 1953, to the late James Harlin and Jewell Edna Harmon Burton. She was preceded in death by her husband Coy Burton. Mrs. Burton was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church where she played the piano. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening, cooking, singing, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include four siblings Elizabeth Burton, Dorinda Streeval (Jeff), and Woodrow Burton all of Columbia, KY and Davis Lee Burton (Rita) of Gary, IN; several nieces and nephews including two special nieces Rebecca Bright (Gerald) of Campbellsville, KY and Kelly Wooley (Willie) of Columbia, KY and a special nephew Jacob Burton (Stefanie) of Campbellsville, KY and their children which she considered her grandchildren Sarah-Ann Bright, Trevor Bright, Noah Bright, Carsen Wooley, Adysen Wooley, Lillyana Burton, Harper Burton, and Preston Burton. Pallbearers will be Noah Bright, Trevor Bright, Keith Streeval, Lee Burton, Matthew Streeval, Zachary Streeval, and Dalton Brown. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
