Mark Allen Banter, 58, Burkesville, KY (1966-2024) Mark Allen Banter, 58, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his residence. Known for his dedication to health and wellness, he was a master nutritionist, champion bodybuilder, health fitness instructor, and health club owner. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Zachary Alvarado. He was born on October 14, 1966, in East Chicago, IN, to Victor and Marjorie (Mihalich) Banter. Mark was of the Christian faith and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Victor and Marjorie (Mihalich) Banter of Burkesville, KY; his daughter, Caitlin Banter of Lafayette, IN; his grandson, Kingston; and his siblings, David Banter of Naples, FL, Paul Banter (Renae) of Crown Point, IN, Lisa DeBoer (Scott) of Orlando, FL, Matthew Banter of Merrillville, IN, Ruth Banter of Cedar Lake, IN, Joseph Banter (Melissa) of Crown Point, IN, Thomas Banter (Jeanette) of Crown Point, IN, and Mary Muse (Lucas) of Auburndale, FL. He is also survived by twenty-five beloved nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Burkesville, KY, with Father Joel Rodgers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12pmCT until the time of the service at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Banter Family Cemetery in Cumberland County, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or to the Mark Banter Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses. Norris-New Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
