Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Sat, Nov 16

Adair County Deputy Judge Executive,
Road Administrative Assistant & Solid Waste Coordinator

Residents of Adair County will be able to dispose of household hazardous waste from 8amCT to NoonCT on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Adair County Road Department.

This service is provided by Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant, the Adair County Fiscal Court, and the Division of Waste Management. The Adair County Road Department is located at 62 Service Rd, Columbia KY. The Service Road is the next road on the left past Day & Day Feed heading north on Hwy 55.

Items that will be accepted:


  • Aerosol cans--all aerosol cans will be accepted
  • Antifreeze - NO mixtures will be accepted
  • Batteries (all types) - Alkaline, Ni Cad, Lithium, Lead Acid
  • Corrosives/Flammables (fuel, kerosene etc)
  • Oil - used motor oil
  • Gasoline
  • Paint
  • Pesticides (2 gallon/2 lbs limit per vehicle)
  • Insecticides
  • Propane Tank - (20lbs limit)
  • Bulbs - CFL bulbs, 4ft tubes and 8ft tubes
  • Pool chemicals
  • Bleach
  • Drain Cleaners
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Mercury
  • Roofing tar
  • Driveway sealant
  • Moth balls
  • Household cleaners
  • Floor cleaners
  • Ammonia
  • Metal polish

Items that will be NOT BE ACCEPTED include:
  • Appliances
  • Fertilizers
  • Medications - Medical waste
  • Tires
  • Explosives
  • Electronic wastes
  • Ammunition
  • Fireworks
  • Smoke Detectors
  • Asbestos
  • Trash/Household trash
