She was a 1972 graduate of Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy
Barbara Cook, 61, of 1058 Clear Springs RD, Columbia, KY, died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at 2:10 a.m., at her residence, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at Grissom Funeral Home, with Bro. Scott Ezell officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at the funeral home.

She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Blanche Montney Snowden.

She was a 1972 graduate of the Misouri Highway Patrol Academy, a homemaker, and was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, Jesse Cook, Columbia, and the following:
  • Five children: Kim Hartel and husband, Lenny, Port Huron, MI; Lisa Sopha and life partner, Glen "Fuzzy" Richards, Columbia, KY; Julie Plummer of Port Huron, MI; Randy Schenk and fiance, Regina, Franklin, KY and Ronald Schenk and wife, Jody, Peoria, AZ

  • One step son: Michael Cook, Lafayette, IN

  • One brother: John Snowden, Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: Liz Troxell and Anne Wheeldon, both of Logansport, IN
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Samuel and Robert Snowden and Sharon Waller.

She was also a pet parent to Emma, Spot Kitty, & A.J., Jr.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
