Reader wants information on John Chapman, who lived in Adair County

Ancestor was in Revolutionary War; married Lucy Barber Williams
To the readers of ColumbiaMagazine.com

My fifth G-Grandfather John Chapman lived in Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, and Russell Counties.

He served in the 37th Cont. Army during the Revolutionary War as a private and also sergeant.

He married Lucy Barber Williams, on Jan. 24, 1791. She was the daughter of Luke Williams and Elizabeth Barber. John was born Oct. 16, 1762 in Halifax Co. Va.

I have a copy of the original marriage bond in my possession. I would like to find out if any one can tell me anything about who John's parent's were, it is said that his mother may have been a Tyree from those parts.

Thank you ever so much for your kind help.

James "ED" Chapman
