Lucille Troutman, 86, Columbia, KY native (1937-2024)

Lucille Helen England Troutman, loving wife of Fred Troutman, left this world on September 11, 2024, after a long and courageous fight against multiple myeloma. She was 86 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Rogers Funeral Home, 507 West 2nd Street, Frankfort, KY. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin at 11amET on Monday at Rogers Funeral Home.

Lucille was born on November 29, 1937, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Owen and Vernie Lee England. Her parents preceded her in death, as did her brother Leonard and her sister Faye.

Along with her husband Fred with whom she recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary, she is also survived by their children Lisa Troutman, Jennifer Mullins (John), and Greg Troutman (Cori); grandchildren Abigail McGaughey, Leah McGaughey, Rachel Taylor (Myles), Stuart Mullins (Michelle), and Brad Mullins (Amy); and great-grandchildren "Little" Myles Taylor, Brayden Taylor, Kirsten Mullins, and Audra Mullins.

In addition, she is survived by her sisters Carol Roach (James), Martha Leach, and Johnnietta Jessie, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Lucille was a member of the First Christian Church where she belonged to the Anna Merle Circle, was actively involved in the Kiwanis Club of Frankfort, and was a life member of both Unit 7 of the American Legion Auxiliary and Unit 6097 of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet, leaving her family with many beautiful quilts and often giving crocheted afghans to friends. She also loved to travel, and was always ready to go at a moment's notice.

She enjoyed watching the squirrels play in the backyard, always kept her hummingbird feeder full, and always got excited to see a deer in the backyard.

A loving wife and mother who continuously put her family ahead of anything else including herself, she was ready to help others anytime or anywhere she could. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations directed to the youth program of the First Christian Church, 316 Ann Street, Frankfort, KY 40601 or the Frankfort Kiwanis Foundation, PO Box 877, Frankfort, KY, 40602.

Rogers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at rogersfrankfort.com.
