Vermalene G. (Sugar) Moore, 61, Columbia, KY (1963-2024) Vermalene "Sugar" (Grider) Moore was born January 11, 1963 and departed her earthly journey on August 19, 2024 at the age of 61. Her parents, James Grider and Allene Kerns Burton preceded her in death as well as an infant sibling and two nephews. The family has chosen cremation, and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Kerns Cemetery at Sano, Kentucky. Our Lord and Savior has called home Vermalene Grider Moore, affectionately known throughout her life as "Sugar". Sugar was known for not only her beauty, but also her loving and kind heart. She had an infectious laugh and loved people. She loved her children, grandchildren, family members and friends. She was an excellent cook and often carried a home cooked meal to the sick and elderly. She had a creative and artistic flair that showed in her home decor, crocheting and baking. She worked at various factories throughout her lifetime and earned her nursing degree while working at Union Underwear. She later gave up her nursing career to be available to help care for her grandsons. She was so proud of her grandsons and her devotion to them was evident. She loved talking about them to everyone she met. She liked nothing more than spending her free time at Moore's Pool Room with the Moore family as they held a special place in her heart. Before her long and debilitating illness, she was often found helping serve customers, picking at friends and family and joyfully laughing at the jokes and tall tales bring shared there. She was a loving mother, Nina, sister and friend. She is survived by a daughter, Natalie Moore and a son, Brandon Blair, both residing in Columbia, Kentucky; two grandsons, Haidyn Blair and Braxton Turner; two sisters, Jean (Billy) Johnson and Annette (Ronnie) Slaven of Columbia; three brothers, Marvin (Brenda) Grider of Columbia, Vanon Grider and JD (Nancy) Grider all of Russell Springs; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
