Melvin Odell Wooten, 65, Columbia, KY (1958-2024) Melvin Odell Wooten of Columbia passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Summit Manor Nursing Home. He was 65 years old. Graveside services will be held at 2:30pmCT on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Coomer Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from NoonCT until 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. He was born on October 16, 1958, in Corydon, IN to the late Jacob Odell and Mable Wheeler Wooten. Mr. Wooten attended the Living by Faith Church and enjoyed riding around with his K9 companion "Molly". Survivors include a son Melvin Jacob Odell Wooten of Columbia, KY; three daughters Michelle Wooten of South Carolina, Melissa Wooten of Russell Springs, KY and Tina Wooten of Russell Springs; two sisters Marilyn Sneed (Bobby) of Columbia, KY and Doris Jean Bachman (Dave) of Indiana; a sister-in-law Cathy Wooten; his K9 companion "Molly" and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Melinda Wooten and nine siblings Ceclia, Priscilla, Patricia, Delores, Roger, Rodney, Marshall, Jacob Odell Jr., and Marvin Odell.
