Reba Smith, 90, Jamestown, KY (1934-2024)

Reba F. Smith, of Jamestown, passed from this life on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 90 years of age.

Ms. Reba was "everybody's Granny" and was a devout caregiver to everyone she loved. She was "everybody's Sweetheart" as well; always having a smile on her face and always cutting up. She enjoyed playing Rook and Uno, working puzzles and did her share of "messing and gomming around".

She was born in Russell County, Saturday, March 3, 1934, daughter of the late Omra and Lyda Gaye Pierce Holt. She married Harold Smith on June 12, 1954. Ms. Reba was a member of the Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Harold "Jr." (and Brenda) Smith, of Russell Springs; her daughters, Peggy Coffey and Patsy McGowan, both of Jamestown; her sisters, Eulene Ellis, of Indianapolis, and Becky (and Glen) Garner, of Jamestown; her grandchildren, Amanda Stapp, Tisha Popplewell, Jason Smith and Jennifer Walters; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Stapp, Trevor (and Aubrie) Stapp, Brandon Noyola, Adrianna Noyola, Makenzie Crew, Laekyn Walters, Brayden Popplewell, Kynlee Popplewell and Faith Smith; and her great-great-grandson, Jackson Luttrell.

Along with her parents, Ms. Reba is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith, who passed away August 27, 2004; her sons-in-law, Donnie Coffey and Limmy McGowan; her brothers, James Earl Holt and William Carl Holt; her sister, Irene Selby; her grandson, Christopher Glenn Coffey; and her great-grandson, Eason Thomas Popplewell.

Funeral services are 1pmCT Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Knight and Bro. Randy Brown officiating. Visitation will be held after 10 Thursday, until time for funeral services.

Interment will follow in Russell County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Bradshaw, Jason Smith, Trevor Stapp, Daniel Popplewell, Brayden Popplewell and Brandon Noyola.
