Michael Lynn Selby, 77, Russell County, KY (1947-2024)

Michael Lynn Selby, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. He was 77 years of age.

Michael obtained his master's degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University and taught for a few years in the Adair County School System.


He was a quiet man, who was content just to sit back and let others talk and was well liked by all who knew him. Michael enjoyed reading, landscaping and gardening, and his animals. He was a retired auditor with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and a member of Russell Springs First United Methodist Church.

Born on Tuesday, March 18, 1947, in Russell County, he was the only child born to the union of the late Curtis Ray and Mary Louise Hale Selby.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Henson Selby; his son, Scott (and Starla) Selby, of Richmond; his daughter, Missy (and Chad) McFarland, of Russell Springs; and his granddaughter, Kylie Selby, of Richmond.

Honoring Michael's wishes, his body will be cremated, and no public services will be held.

Donations may be made to Kevin's Kids or to the charity of your choice in memory of Michael Lynn Selby. Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
