Courthouse Clock will chime and keep time again The clock tower on the historic Adair county courthouse is in full restoration phase, members learned at the recent Adair Heritage Association meeting. The City Of Columbia is funding the work of bringing the clock back into working order. The clock will have modern mechanical parts instead of the age old parts which could not be rebuilt. It will chime again and keep time again once the work on it is completed. Meanwhile, the County's grant money is continuing to take care of slow but sure restoration of the building. Progress to date includes removal of the wings, paint and new windows. A new roof and flashing will be next. This story was posted on 2024-06-25 01:23:13
