Mary Morrison, 73, Columbia, KY (1951-2024) Mary Frances (Matthews) Morrison of Columbia passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her residence. She was 73 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Columbia on June 2, 1951, to the late Jessie George Matthews and Margaret Cook Matthews McQueary. Mrs. Morrison was a member of the Amazing Grace Church and had a special calling for caring for the elderly. She was formerly very active in Adair County Little League, starting and running the concession stand for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband James Michael Morrison of Columbia, KY; a son James Lynn Morrison of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter Wendy Janes (Chris) of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Brittany, Elliot, Cassidy, and Will Morrison; two brothers Bill Mathews (Regina) and Larry Matthews and several other friends and relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Dennis McQueary, a brother David Matthews and his wife Vivian and a daughter-in-law Alesha Bryant Morrison. Pallbearers will be Will Morrison, Elliot Morrison, Chris Janes, James Morrison, Douchy Matthews, and Clinton Matthews. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
