Kolbenschlags find a white Christmas in Utah

Click title for photos from the trip

George and Vonnie Kolbenschlag sought a white Christmas in Salt Lake City with son George and his family and son Peter. They found lots of snow at Snowbird Ski Resort in the Wasatch mountains where George Jr. is mountain school director. Snowbird is located about 30 minutes from George's home in SLC.

This year has set a snowfall record at the resort with 838 inches (that's 70 feet) of the white stuff. The photos don't show that too well as there were also some major snow melts in 2023 during the winters, so there was no time when all 70 feet of snow was on the ground.
