Winter weather a possibility Monday afternoon

At 4:39amET on Monday, December 18, 2023, the National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, issued the following Special Weather Statement for an area that includes Adair and all surrounding counties:
Isolated to widely scattered snow showers, falling temperatures and gusty winds Monday will be present during the afternoon commute. As a result, road conditions could briefly deteriorate due to slick pavement and reduced visibilities. Also, take care of secure loose outdoor items and especially holiday decorations.
A 4:08amET bulletin covering an area including Adair, Casey, Green, Russell and Taylor, stated:
Scattered snow showers are expected to develop Monday as an Arctic cold front works across the region. In addition to the snow showers, strong gusty northwest winds of 20-30 mph are expected. Some of the snow showers may be briefly heavy resulting in reduced visibilities and some minor accumulations on elevated and grassy surfaces. Air temperatures during the day are expected to remain above freezing, though temperatures are expected to drop below freezing towards sunset.
Those traveling across portions of central Kentucky and southern Indiana Monday should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared for rapidly changing weather and travel conditions.
