Milton Creed Bloyd, 83, Summersville, KY (1940-2023)

Milton Creed Bloyd of Summersville departed this life on May 24, 2023 at his home. He was 83 years old.

The funeral services for Milton Creed Bloyd will be conducted at 1pmCT on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Justin Dial officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT on Saturday until time of the service.


Milton Creed Bloyd, son of the late Edward C. Bloyd and Gladys May Marcum Bloyd, was born on Thursday, May 23, 1940.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was a farmer, long time truck driver, worked at Greensburg Bottling Company, Central Motors, and Larry Glass Construction.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kitty Bush Bloyd, on January 29, 2015, having united in marriage on September 22, 1978.

Survivors include two daughters: Sherry Bloyd and Gayle Edmonds both of Summersville; a son and daughter-in-law: Billy and Becky Bloyd of Summersville; a bonus daughter: Kathy Walker of Summersville; five grandchildren: Carrie Martin, Jonathon Bloyd, Melanie Edmonds, Cody Bloyd, Emily Patterson all of Summersville; eight great-grandchildren: Jaydon, Maddox, Ella, Owen, Daisy, Wyatt, Jathon, and Ashton.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Hosparus of Green River which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Billy Bloyd, Cody Bloyd, Jonathon Bloyd, Ethan Patterson, Junior Feese, Craig Martin
