Baseball: LWC travels to IU-Southeast for midweek contest The Lindsey Wilson baseball team travels to New Albany, IN, to face off against the Indiana Southeast Grenadiers on Wednesday. First pitch in this midweek contest at Koetter Sports Baseball Complex is set for 4pmCT. These two squads have already met once this season, with the Blue Raiders defeating the Grenadiers 11-1 inside of Egnew Park on March 1, 2023. Cohen Achen earned the win on the mound, giving up two hits, one run, one walk, and recording nine strikeouts. Chance Stayton went an impressive 4-for-4 on the day and brought in one run. Jordan Blick, Lucas Bault, and Trent Floden also had multi-hit days. Matthew Schultz ended the contest early with a grand slam in the seventh inning to account for four of his five RBIs against IU-Southeast. Last time out, Lindsey Wilson (14-12, 6-8 MSC) dropped a conference road series to Tennessee Southern. The Blue Raiders won the first game 6-5 on Friday behind Sam Gage's 2-for-4 day which included a home run and three RBIs. Achen was credited with the win on the mound and racked up ten strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched. The Blue Raiders dropped the ensuing doubleheader on Saturday, but still put up high offensive numbers, totaling a combined 22 runs and 26 hits in the two games. IU-Southeast (13-13, 8-4 MSC) is coming off a sweep over Alice Lloyd (Ky.) in a series where the Grenadiers outscored the Eagles 30-5 in three games.
