ACES Library receives $500 Read Across America grant

By Pam Phipps

ACES library was awarded $500 through a grant from the Middle Cumberland Education Association Retired teachers. The $500 grant purchased an equal amount of fiction and non-fiction books for the ACES library.

March 2nd is recognized nationally as Read Across America Day. The nation celebrates the joy of reading during the month of March. During the first week of March, librarians, authors, educators, parents, caregivers, and community members are invited into schools, libraries, churches, and daycare centers to read aloud to our nation's children. Books build a child's sense of belonging and can help inculcate respect and empathy for others.

Throughout the first week of March, Adair Co. students dressed up and participated in school and district Read Across America events. (See also:Read Across Adair 2023 a huge success at ACPC)
