There are seven grandchildren: Shannon Lyman (Steve), Lauren Pollus (Rob), Dana Hayes Fuller (Ches), all of Lexington, Drew Hayes (Sarah), Jordan Hayes (Hunter), Jade Hayes Finn (Tyler) of Campbellsville and Josh Hayes (Whitney) of Columbia, Kentucky. There are seventeen great-grandchildren and two more on the way. Special friend and long-time companion, Elizabeth Goff Humphress and a "special grandson", Phil Lawhorn.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Marine Hayes; infant daughter, Diana; three brothers: Raymond, Dwight and Johnny Ray, and two sisters: Frances Hayes Lawhorn and Joyce Kay Peach.

Brother Buel was pastor for 11 years at Creston Missionary Church in Casey County and was a long-time Sunday School teacher at Campbellsville Baptist Church.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
