Owen Matthew DeSpain, 85, Campbellsville, KY (1937-2022) Owen Matthew DeSpain of Campbellsville passed away peacefully on December 9, 2022. He was 85 years old. The funeral service for Owen Matthew DeSpain will be held at 1pmET on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. David Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The family requests visitation after 11amET on Tuesday until time for the service. Owen was born on April 4, 1937 in Campbellsville, KY, to the late Bert DeSpain and Mary Vance DeSpain. He was an employee of Greybeal Aluminum as an installer. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Church of The Nazarene. He enjoyed loafing at The Ol' Mule Store, piddling on the tractor and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jane Hood DeSpain of Campbellsville, four step-daughters: Marcia Bell and companion Alan Milby of Mt. Sherman, Loretta Druin of Shepherdsville, KY, Phyllis Montgomery of Greensburg, KY, and Shannon Watson and husband Mark of Elk Horn. Ten Step-grandchildren, Fifteen, Step-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, He was preceded in death by a son, David Owen DeSpain, two step-daughters, Betty Harris and Stacy Chavez, a brother, William "Pete" DeSpain, and three grandchildren. L.R.
