Bill Walton, 85, Russell Springs, KY (1937-2022) Billy Ray "Bill" Walton of Russell Springs passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at his home. He was 85 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 1pmCT on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bill Welker and Bro. Bucky Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Russell County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held after 10amCT on Monday, until time for funeral services. Bill was born in Oakland, Mississippi, April 21, 1937, son of the late Ezra Harris and Effie Cook Walton. He played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Bill was a founding member of the Russell County Rescue Squad, serving Russell County for forty-two years, and was the first Emergency Medical Technician in Russell County. Bill was a member of Jamestown Christian Church. He loved to fish. He is survived by his son, Ray (and Melanie) Walton, of Lexington; his daughters, Maria Walton, of Bowling Green, and Lisa (and Mike) Bradshaw, of Jamestown; his grandsons, Connor Walton, Jason (and Andrea) Bradshaw, and Kyle Bradshaw; and his great-grandson, Caynan Bradshaw. Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Derrington Walton, who passed away on July 19, 2020; his brother, E.H. Walton; and his sister, Irene Walker.
