AC Schools Strategic Leadership Team to meet in January

Adair County Schools

Meeting 2 of the Adair County Schools Strategic Leadership Team will be held at 6pmCT on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY.

All are welcome to attend (even if you weren't able to make the first meeting) as we discuss next steps for our school district and community. Your voice is crucial in helping our community create a well-rounded profile of success for every student in Adair County.

Summary of Meeting 1:

Here are ideas that emerged as important themes in your Empathy Statements:

When students are heard in school they feel more important
When students don't feel important they often don't try
Most parents want to be "in the know"
Employers want assurance that schools are preparing a workforce
Civic leaders want to be in partnership with the schools regarding civic engagement and workforce development

Here are some common responses in your User Statements:

Community members need a way to communicate so they can be collaborative partners
Employers need a way to collaborate with schools to create a stronger workforce
Teachers need a way to interact with families so families can be more aware of school happenings
Teachers need a way to obtain better resources so they can create more engaging learning activities
Students need a way to learn through exploration so they can pursue individual interests
