Billy Gene Money, 86, Greensburg, KY (1936-2022)

Billy Gene Money of Greensburg passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. He was 86 years old.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Billy Gene Money will be conducted from NoonCT until 3pmCT on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY. Burial will take place later at the Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Park in Homestead, Florida.


Billy Gene Money, son of the late James Josiah "Jimmy Jo" Money and Carrie R. Milby Money, was born on Wednesday, August 12, 1936 in Green County.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960 as a Boiler Technician. He was a member of the V.F.W in Homestead, Florida, was a hunter and fisherman, and loved saltwater fishing.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Jared and Kayleigh Money of Greensburg, and Kevin Gene and Peggy Money of Kynesville, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law: Karen Money Watson and Virgil Watson of Marianna, Florida; six grandchildren: Wesley and Amanda Money, James Warner Money, Christopher and Tyler Black, Perry and Hannah Money all of Florida, Waylon Money and Aubrey Money both of Greensburg; five great-grandchildren: Mason, Emily, Wyatt, Carrie, and Tatum; a brother: Thomas Money of Summersville; Laura and Jessie, Mike Berry, Steve and Linda McGuffin, Randy and Sharon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Money was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Edgar Money and James E. Money.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Green Hill Activity Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
