Ten-foot statue of Ed Diddle to be unveiled November 19, 2005

A ten-foot statue of Adair County's E.A. Diddle, will be unveiled on November 19, 2005.

The statue will be placed in front of Western Kentucky University's E.A. Diddle Arena. It will feature the famous red towel Mr. Diddle was famous for waving at exciting moments in Hilltopper games.


An announcement of the unveiling was made during the 2005 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction in the Hall of Champions at the E.A. Diddle Arena, Saturday, October 15, 2005, at which Adair CountianJim Richards, Garlin, Adair County, KY, was inducted into the WKU Athletic Hall of Fame.E.A. Diddle, Gradyville, Adair County, KY, was the first inductee into the Hall of Fame, which was established in 1991.

WKU to unveil 10-ft statue of Gradyville, Adair Co. KY's Ed Diddle



2005-10-16 - Bowling Green, KY - Photo Staff. In Western Kentucky University's E.A. Diddle Arena, the man himself, Uncle Ed Diddle a native of Gradyville, Adair County, KY, is the dominant figure in a mural in the Hall of Champions. Mr. Diddle was the first inductee into Western's Athletic Hall of Fame and was joined Saturday by a compatriot, Jim Richards of Garlin, Adair County, Kentucky. On November 19, 2005, a 10-ft. statue of Mr. Diddle will be unveiled in front of the arena.
