Website maps the fall color trail through Kentucky's hills and hollows

Mother Nature's fall color show is being tracked on Kentucky's tourism website. This is the big week for our South Central Region:
"Lake Cumberland State Park in Jamestown is at 35 percent change with color in the tulip tree, sassafras, dogwood, black and sweet gum, maple, hickory and beech. Peak is expected to be from October 16 to 22.

Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park in Burkesville is currently between 25 to 30 percent color change. The drive into the park on Highway 90 from the west is showing reds and oranges. Around the park, the primary colors are pale greens and yellows with hints of red.

Mammoth Cave National Park is still slow to change with about 10 to 20 percent color. The Green River is low and perfect for canoeing and the 60-mile trail system north of Green River is open to hikers, most to horses and some to mountain bikers."
