Cyrus: Frank Nell / Barger Brothers Store Words can not begin to describe how much I enjoyed the Frank Nell interview. Thanks ever so much for posting it! Since the Barger Brothers store was mentioned, I thought readers might enjoy this bit of history from the Adair County News. Wednesday, October 9, 1946 Mr. Ores Barger died less than year later, in June, 1947. Mr. Eros B. Barger died in September, 1964. Mr. Miller and his brother-in-law, the late E.W. Reed, engaged in the grocery business here for a number of years under the firm name of Reed & Miller in quarters now occupied by Barger Bros. They also put in the first telephone exchange ever operated here and the system remained under Mr. Miller's management until sold to the Southern Continental Telephone Company in 1928. He also was associated with G.R. Reed in the hardware business at one time. Reporting from way up north, I remain, Your humble Central Ohio Bureau Chief, Cyrus This story was posted on 2005-10-05 08:24:51
