Obituary: Raymond Huddleston, 72, Korean War Veteran

Services will be held at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. for Raymond Huddleston who died Sunday after several years illness. A resident of the Cundiff Community, he was the son of the late Edd Lee and Alta Lloyd Huddleston. He was a member of the Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church, a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, a farmer and was a grader operator for Adair County Road Department for several years. He was also an Adair County Road Commissioner.
He is survived by:
  • His wife, Corine Helm Huddleston of Cundiff

  • Two sons: Ronnie Huddleston and his wife Connie, and Richie Huddleston, all of Cundiff

  • Two daughters: Debbie Willis and her husband Greg of Fairplay, and Peggy Shepherd and her husband Joe of Columbia

  • Two brothers: Avalee Huddleston of Cundiff and Gilliam Huddleston of Shepherdsville, KY

  • One sister, Pauline Cochran of Louisville

  • Three grandchildren: Davy Burchett, Alisha Robinson and Lea Brook Huddleston

  • Three great grandchildren.
Visitation begins after 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Vernon Blakey and Bro. Buford Hadley will officiate at the Wednesday afternoon service.

Interment will be in the Melson Cemetery at Cundiff.

Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Post 6097.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
