Maxine (Smith) Radford, 92, Burkesville, KY (1930-2022)

Mrs. Maxine (Smith) Radford of Burkesville passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Cumberland County Hospital. She was 92 years old.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2pmCT on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, with Dr. David Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Parrish Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 4pmCT until the funeral hour on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home.


She was born on Saturday, March 15, 1930, in the Bear Creek Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky the daughter of Charlie Cleveland "C. C." and Eliza (Phares) Smith. She was of the Methodist faith, member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, a seamstress for Sutton Shirt Corp., a waitress, farmer, and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Windell Radford, daughter, Jane Radford, two stillborn granddaughters, Angela & Carla Riddle, brother, J.C. Smith, sister, Patsy Poindexter, half-siblings, Sam B. Smith, Pauline Garner, Charles Edward Smith, Oleen Watson, Howard Reed Smith, & Geneva Ferguson, nephews, Danny Allen, Lawrence Teal, Don Davis & Doug Davis.

She is survived by her children, Leslie Frank (& Joan) Radford of Radcliff, Kentucky, Judy (& Sonny) Branham of Bixby, Oklahoma, Roger Windell (& Martha) Radford of Midlothian, Virginia, siblings, Leon (& Faye) Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky, Drusilla Allen of Burkesville, Kentucky, Stanna Page of Lexington, Kentucky, Seven grandchildren, Christopher Radford, Jonathan Radford, Kimberly Radford Dahlman, Matthew Branham, Andrew Radford, Casey Melton & Whitney Melton Long, several great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family members and many friends.
