Voting in Adair Co. for the 2022 General Election

The last day to register to vote in the 2022 General Election is Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Online Registrations must be received by 4pm (local time) at Elect.ky.gov, or the Adair County Clerk's Office, 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia KY, until the close of business at 4pmcT. If you are not sure if you are registered to vote, visit Elect.ky.gov or call the Clerk's Office.

The Adair County Clerks Office is located at 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia, KY. The phone number is 270-384-2801, and normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8amCT to 4pmCT, and Saturdays 8amCT to 11amCT. Remember that voters must confirm identity to vote by any method. There will be a number of ways to vote in the upcoming General Election, including mail-in and in-person absentee voting for voters who meet certain criteria, as well as a three-day Early Voting option in early November, and voting at your usual precinct on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022.


Excused Mail-In Absentee Ballot (Sept. 24 - Oct. 25, 2022)
The period to request an Excused Mail-In Absentee Ballot opened on September 24, 2022, and will close on October 25, 2022. In order to vote by Excused Mail-In Absentee Ballot, a voter must request a ballot at Govoteky.com or by calling the Adair County Clerk's Office.

Excused Mail-In Absentee Ballots may be returned via the US Postal Service or dropped off in a special Secured Ballot Box located in the Adair County Clerk's Office.

Excused In-Person Absentee Voting
Excused In-Person Absentee Voting will be available to voters who meet the criteria for Absentee Voting on the following days: October 26th, 27th, 28th, 31st, Nov 1st, 2nd, from 8amCT to 4pmCT at the Adair County Clerk's Office. There will be no voting on Saturday October 29, 2022.

NOTE: Excused Mail-In and In-Person Absentee Ballots are only available to voters who will not be able to appear at the polls on election day due to one of the following reasons:
  • I am a covered voter under the Kentucky Uniform Military and Overseas Act, KRS 117A.010
  • I am a student who temporarily resides outside the county of my residence.
  • I am incarcerated in jail but have not been convicted of the crime for which I have been charged.
  • I have changed my place of residence to a different state during a period in which my new state's voter registration books are closed (you will receive a ballot only for the offices of President and Vice-President of the United States).
  • I am temporarily residing outside of Kentucky but am still eligible to vote in the state
  • I will be absent from my county of residence on Election Day and on all of the days that in-person absentee voting is conducted.
  • I am a participant in the Secretary of State's crime victim address confidentiality program.
  • I am not able to appear at the polls on Election Day or on the days in-person absentee voting is conducted on account of age, disability, or illness and I have not been declared mentally disabled by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Early Voting: No Excuse In-Person Voting (Nov. 3, 4, 5)
Any Adair County Voter may vote at Adair County Courthouse Annex, 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia, KY,regardless of their precinct, on these three days:November 3rd, 4th, and 5th from 8amCT to 4pmCT. No reason is required to vote during these days.

Election Day (Tuesday November 8, 2022)
If you have not voted by November 8, you must vote at your precinct of record, except in case of medical emergency. All precincts will be open from 6amCT to 6pmCT on Election Day.

  • East Columbia: Wheet Fellowship Hall, 1208 Jamestown St, Columbia KY
  • Ozark: Leon Huff Building, 7692 Russell Springs Road, Columbia KY
  • South Columbia-Harmony: Wheet Fellowship Hall, 1208 Jamestown st, Columbia KY
  • Glensfork-Melson Ridge: Gaddie Shamrock Office Building, 4097 Hwy 55s, Columbia kY
  • Gradyville-Nell: Gradyville General Store (formerly D&F Grocery), 4731 Edmonton Road, Columbia KY
  • Sparksville-Breeding: Breeding Fire Department, 290 Fire Dept Rd, Columbia KY
  • South Columbia-#2: Jim Blair Center (Christian Life Center), 901 Hudson Street, Columbia KY
  • Milltown: Lewis Garrison Building (in the back) 6980 Greensburg Road, Columbia KY
  • West Columbia: Jim Blair Center (Christian Life Center), 901 Hudson Street, Columbia KY
  • Cane Valley-Holmes: Trinity Fellowship Hall, 2252 Campbellsville Road, Columbia KY
  • Knifley-Roley: Knifley Fire Department, 6130 Elkhorn Road, Knifley KY 42753
  • North Columbia: Trinity Fellowship Hall, 2252 Campbellsville Road, Columbia KY
  • Hurt: VFW Building, 500 Greenhills Road, Columbia KY

No voting will be conducted on Monday, November 7, 2022. Regardless of where or when you vote please remember to bring proof of identity.
