Swimming: LWC Men lead Fall Frenzy after 1st session

The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team sits in first place after the first session of the LWC Fall Frenzy. LWC scored 425 points to sit comfortably in first as Campbellsville University is second with 218 points.

Lindsey Wilson opened their season with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Azahn Hicks, Tyler King, James de Goede, and Max van Schagen touched the wall in one minute and 28.50 seconds. The quartet of Jose Angel Rivas, Reece Kincaid, Daniel Wytwer, and Chase Hickman claimed third in the event with a mark of 1:30.49.

Fabio Martin claimed first place in the 500-yard freestyle as he crashed into the wall in 4:50.30 as Malte Ahrens finished just behind in second with a time of 5:01.66.

De Goede added the Blue Raiders' third first-place finish of the night when he won the 200-yard IM with a mark of 1:59.17. Kincaid claimed third in the event with his time of 2:02.49.

The Blue Raiders swept the podium during the 50-yard freestyle as Van Schagen, King, and Hicks touched the wall in succession. The trio posted times of 21.82, 22.23, and 22.68 seconds, respectively.

Lindsey Wilson closed out the session with a first and second place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Will Thilwind, Rivas, Kincaid, and Hicks took first at 3:36.88 while De Goede, Van Schagen, Hickman and King took second at 3:39.74.

Lindsey Wilson closes out action at the Fall Frenzy Saturday when they compete in session two at 9amCT and session three at 3:30pmCT.
