Elsa Katheryn Humphress, daughter of the late Stanley Lee and Alma Ross Kidwell Lee, was born September 15, 1934 in Monroe County, Kentucky.

She professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age.

She was united in marriage to Winfred Jolly Humphress on December 15, 1951 and was a committed wife for over 70 years. Katheryn dedicated her life to her husband, her family, and her home. She was also affectionately called Mama, Kat, Mama Kat, Grandma, and Mammy by all who loved her. Katheryn blessed others with her excellent cooking skills and never hesitated to feed anyone who graced her doorstep or was in need. As a devoted homemaker, she was the epitome of a 'neighborhood momma' and touched the lives of many children over the years. She loved tending to her flowers and plants and everything she touched flourished. Katheryn cherished having her very large family around her during the holidays and a full house was exactly what she desired.

Besides her husband, Jolly Humphress of Campbellsville, Katheryn is survived by two sons and four daughters: Linda and Brent McCubbin, David and Connie Humphress, Patti and Terry Brown, Charlotte Reynolds and companion Randy Biggs, John Daniel (J.D.) and Anna Humphress and Lisa Humphress Myers; fourteen grandchildren: B.J. and Deanna Newton, Erica McCubbin, Jessica McGregor, Brian and Carrie Humphress, Cameron and Deana Humphress, Conleigh and Josh Graves, Lindsay and Justin Newton, Brittany and Darian Gray, Brehm and Bethany Reynolds, Jesse Reynolds and fiance, Rachel Veatch, Sydney Humphress and fiance, Dalton Blair, Evan Humphress, Chelsea and Michelle Nelson, and Jordan and Richard Hunt; twenty four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Bobby and Jennifer Lee of Smithville, Tennessee, Brenda and Terrell Murphy of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Dickie and Colleen Lee of Glasgow, Kentucky; niece Sylvia Brown; and many other family members and friends. Katheryn was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Harley Lee, Maxie Lee, Bill Lee, Frances Moore and Robbie Harlan and a son-in-law, William Myers.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to the Harden Cemetery Fund and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at parrottramsey.com.
