Velma Montez Vaughn, 74, Green County, KY family

Velma Montez Vaughn was born on Tuesday, March 30, 1948 and departed this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022. She was 74 years, five months, and 19 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended First Christian Church. She was a bookkeeper, worked part-time at JCPenney, and was also a hairstylist.



She united in marriage to James William Vaughn on August 4, 1973 who preceded her in death on October 31, 2015.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Denise and Greg Whitlow of Summersville; a son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Rachel Vaughn of Bowling Green; six grandchildren: Jonathan and Emillee Whitlow, Josh Whitlow, Jill and Bryar Chase all of Greensburg, Eli Vaughn, Farrah Vaughn, Layla Vaughn all of Bowling Green; two great-grandchildren: Maxton Whitlow and Ellington Whitlow of Greensburg; a sister: Verna Bloodworth of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers: Frank Montez and Edmond Montez both of Tucson; a sister-in-law and her spouse: Betty and Tom Davis of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be conducted at 12noonCT on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Visitation is requested from 4-8 Wednesday and after 7 Thursday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Bennett Cemetery Fund or the Gideon Bible Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
