Cross Country: LWC Men begin 2022 season at Hanover Invite

Hanover, IN - The Lindsey Wilson men's cross-country team opened its 2022 campaign on Saturday morning in Indiana, collecting a third-place finish out of seven teams at the Hanover Invitational, hosted by Hanover College.

Justin Stearns closed the nearly-four-mile race with the Blue Raiders' fastest time of 20:23.6. The sophomore's efforts landed him just inside the top 10 overall in eighth.

Not far behind was fellow second-year harrier Nick Cummins, who ended up in 14th place with a sub-21-minute time of 20:53.7.

Upperclassmen Nolan Foushee (21:14.8) and Jordan Tucker (21:16.4) wrapped up their races in the 20th and 21st slots, respectively, and sophomore Marcus Abel and freshman Zach Jewell rounded out the local's showing with individual marks of 22:26.1 (29th) and 22:29.8 (30th).

Freshman Kevin Cuin made his Blue Raider debut with a final time of 23:04.4.

Michael Schonter, a junior, also ran for Lindsey Wilson over the weekend but did not finish with an official time.

The Blue Raider men return to action on October 1 in Louisville, when they compete in the Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park.
