Soccer: LWC Women return home to face No. 2 Spring Arbor

The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team returns home to battle No. 2 Spring Arbor at 4pmCT on Saturday, September 10, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.

The Blue Raiders (0-2-1) lost their last match against No. 9 Oklahoma Wesleyan 1-0 on Sunday morning.


Alicia Thoresen leads all Blue Raiders with three goals scored this season. Lindsey Wilson has a four-way tie for assists this season with Minni Laukka, Irma Thoresen, Britt Tonis, and Tracy Jones all registering one apiece. Goalkeeper Maya Caon has recorded 22 saves this season.

Spring Arbor (2-0-2) enters the contest as the new No. 2-ranked team in the NAIA Coaches Poll. The Cougars are fresh off a 0-0 tie to (RV) Embry-Riddle (AZ). Annika Arsenault is the leading scorer for Spring Arbor netting three goals, despite only playing 29 minutes with Madison Marshall leading the team in assists with four. Goalkeeper Rachel Tanielian has totaled four saves on the season.

This will be the 19th all-time meeting between these two programs with Lindsey Wilson leading the all-time series against Spring Arbor 9-4-5. The last time these two faced each other was on Apr. 17, 2021, in the NAIA Opening Round Final, where the Blue Raiders lost 3-0.
