Bowling Green, KY - CASA of South Central KY is excited to announce it will hold its fall training session for new Advocates.

Advocate Training will take place from 8:30amCT to 4:30pmCT on October 6, 13, 20, and 27. Advocates will need to attend all four training sessions. Applications for this training must be received by October 3, 2022.

More information and the application form may be found online at www.casaofsck.org/volunteer.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of South Central KY, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to preventing and eliminating further trauma to children. CASA provides support, advocacy, and intervention for abused, neglected, and dependent children in South Central Kentucky's Family Court Systems. A CASA volunteer is a court appointed, trained and committed adult who ensures that each child's individual needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system.

Volunteers will advocate for these children through the child welfare system, the Family Court and attorneys that serve Barren, Hart, Metcalfe, and Warren Counties. By using trained community volunteers as Advocates for these abused and neglected children, we can prevent them from being further abused by a system that should be protecting them.

From 2018 through 2020, Kentucky ranked #1 in the nation for cases of child abuse and neglect. In 2021 we dropped to #5 - not much of an improvement. Kentucky has been in the top 10 for decades. We need your help in turning these numbers around.
