Phillip Coffey - Earned his degree EARNED HIS DEGREE - by Phillip Coffey (Tribute to my father -in-law Dennis Neat, Vietnam Veteran) Got his 'so called' Social Security card when he was twelve-shining shoes for upscale clientele. Never had a day of not working until he completely wore out - just couldn't do anymore. Many in his generation just didn't have the option of getting a college degree. Took on trucking when he was very young, but first he had to go to Vietnam - Ole Uncle Sam wrote him a letter with "Greetings" - public servant to all. He did a plenty for the war effort, they say our country lost - only know what I've been told, but I know for sure they were not treated well when returning home. They walked through the jungles holding their M-16 weapons high - not to get wet. Never got a formal education but let's all give the Vietnam Veterans that had to walk through the Murky swamps heaps of passion - they earned their degree.
