Ella Mae Johnson, 70, Russell Springs, KY (1951-2022) Ella Mae Johnson of Russell Springs passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Fair Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. She was 70 years of age. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pmCT on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Randy Brown and Bro. Bobby Conner officiating. Interment will be in Clear Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held after NoonCT on Sunday until time for services. Ella was born November 22, 1951, in Russell County, daughter of the late Refus Dowell and Ada Mae Coffey Gentry. She was a Christian lady who attended Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church. Ella was a devoted caretaker of her family. She was a good cook and loved to work in her flower garden. Ella found great joy being around her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Phillip; her sons, Lance Johnson and Jason Johnson, both of Russell Springs; her daughter, Angela Adkins, of Russell Springs; her sisters, Judy Campbell, of Columbia, and Joan Shaw, of Edmonton; and her five grandchildren, Tristan Adkins, Kassidy Johnson, Olivia Adkins, Justin Adkins and Aaron Johnson. Along with her parents, Ella is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Gentry; her sister, Wanda Rhoten; and her son-in-law, Lawrence Adkins. Pallbearers will be Lance Johnson, Justin Adkins, Aaron Johnson, Tristan Adkins, Larry Johnson and Blake Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clear Springs Cemetery Fund c/o Mike Foley, 628 W. West Wilson Road, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
