Rita Phyllis Rattliff Paxton, 76, Summersville, KY (1946-2022)

Rita Phyllis Rattliff Paxton of Summersville passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her home. She was 76 years old.

The funeral services for Rita Paxton will be conducted at 2pmCT on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Casey Durrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Sunday until time of the funeral Service.


Rita Phyllis Rattliff Paxton, daughter of the late Ruby Alton Ratliff and Mary Chaudoin Rattliff, was born on Saturday, March 2, 1946 in Green County.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. She formerly worked at Fruit of the Loom, Tenn-Fore, Chalk Line, Jan-Mar and Retired from Green County Schools as an Instructional Assistant.

She united in marriage to James H. Jimmy Milby who preceded her in death on December 13, 1987. She later united in marriage to Eddie Paxton on October 24, 1991, who survives.

Other Survivors include a son: James Stacy Milby of Allendale; two daughters: Lorie Amanda Shively and Samantha Erin Dudgeon both of Campbellsville; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Brenda Jo and William Shofner, Emma Lynn and Mel Shuffett all of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Ethel Rattliff of Summersville; and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rita was also preceded in death by two brothers: Bobby Lee Ratliff and Aaron Walton Ratliff.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund and Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.
