The Mousetrap coming to Barnlot Theater From Kyrie-Inn Blue, Development Director Barn Lot Theater The world's longest-running play is coming soon to Edmonton. Barn Lot Theater will present The Mousetrap, by English crime novelist and playwright Agatha Christie, the last two weekends in August. The Spotlight Sponsor for the show is Bowling Park. The Mousetrap will play August 18 - 21 and 25 - 28. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7pmCT. Sunday Matinees at 2:30pmCT. Tickets and additional information at barnlottheater.org or by calling 270-432-2276. "The Mousetrap is a great show to attend. There has never been a movie adaptation of this work, so it will keep the audience guessing to the final moments," says director Brandon Kyle Hadley. After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another. A police detective, arriving on skis, interrogates the suspects: the newlyweds running the house; a spinster with a curious background; an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef; a retired Army major; a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift; and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. When a second murder takes place, tensions and fears escalate. Rated PG, this record-breaking murder mystery features a brilliant surprise finish from Dame Agatha Christie, the foremost mystery writer of her time and has been running continuously for the past 70 years. "Including the twists and turns of the plot, Mousetrap features some of Agatha Christie's best characters that bring humor to the plot. Just because it is a murder mystery, doesn't mean that you will not laugh," adds Hadley. The Mousetrap is directed by Brandon Kyle Hadley and features a cast of area stage veterans that includes Deeann and Joshua Phelps, Wesley Waddle, Robin Frazier, John Botts, Sandy Roberts Dunn, Greg Blair and Dustin Popp. This story was posted on 2022-07-30 00:05:35
