Rebecca Schetler, 75, Columbia, KY (1947-2022) Rebecca Ann (Bratcher) Schetler of Louisville passed away on the morning of July 5, 2022, surrounded by family in her home in Columbia. She was 75 years old. Funeral services are 3pmCT on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother Doug Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be held from NoonCT until service time on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at the funeral home. She was born on April 5, 1947, to the late Charles Frederick and Mildred M. Bratcher. She was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Charles Francis Metten. During her youth, she was a member of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Bardstown, followed by a membership of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Jamestown later in life. Rebecca enjoyed a full and adventurous life with various careers. Her fondest stories were from her employment at E&H Electrical, Fruit of the Loom, and Coffey's Veterinary Center where she retired at the age of 68. Rebecca loved riding and showing horses, playing guitar and singing, and telling tales of her youth. She was a loving and spirited mother and grandmother, and a devoted donor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Rebecca is survived by her son, John (and Heather) Schetler of Louisville; two daughters, Jennifer (and Jeron) Loy of Jamestown and Janice Coffey of Columbia; two sisters, Charleen Cook and Linda Pace, both of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Jayln Loy, Kyle Schetler, Lauren Schetler, Bethany (and John) Bowie, Matthew Schank, Stephanie (and Isaiah) Titus, Aaron Graves, and Khristen Graves; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and stepfather, Rebecca was preceded in death by her son, Charles Lee Schetler, Jr., and her brother-in-law, Randall Cook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
