Dallas Richard (Poochie) York, 68, Columbia, KY (1953-2022) Dallas Richard "Poochie" York of Columbia passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at T. J. Health Columbia. He was 68 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Ronnie Dial officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday after 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born on Saturday, October 10, 1953 in Adair County, KY to the late Preston Lee and Madeline Grider York. Richard loved fishing, playing bingo and spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pops". He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his former wife and love of his life, Shirley Nash York of Columbia, KY; his children, Melissa Dial Gullion (James), Eric Dial (Leslie), Craig Dial (Shelbey), Bill York, Bobby York and Annita Dial (Ricky Bledsoe); three sisters, Ruby Burton (Albert), Carol Bryant (Joe) and Bernice Trimble; two brothers, Marvin York (Cathy) and Randy York; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren; an aunt Elizabeth "Lizzie" York; an uncle Jessie "Buck" York and several niece, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Roger York in 2016. Pallbearers will be Jordan Baker, Cameron Barnett, Bryan Kelsay II, DeCarr Matney, Chance Barnett, Richard Baldwin, Brandon Meador and Dylan Gray. Honorary pallbearers are Cody York, Steve Harvey, James Gullion, Eric Dial, Craig Dial and Mr. York's grandson, JayKob Lee, who can't be here because he is on TDY in Alaska serving his country in the U. S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations to help with funeral expenses. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
