Barbara Jean Givens Shuffett, Green County, KY (1933-2022)

Barbara Jean Givens Shuffett of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Grover Givens and Eunice Hays Givens, was born on Sunday, March 26, 1933 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was 89 years, one month, and 16 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.



She united in marriage to Roy Lawrence Shuffett on November 4, 1948 who preceded her in death on August 18, 2016.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald Dean and Bonnie Shuffett, and Stanley and Karen Shuffett all of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Ashley Shuffett, and his wife Andi, Luke Shuffett and his wife, Kristy all of Greensburg, Jon Shuffett of Pennsylvania, Shana Osborne of Greensburg, and Emily Thompson of Summersville; nine great-grandchildren: Christen, Tyler, Corbin, Madison, Mollie, Skylar, Rhianna, Jacklinn, and Khyleigh; three great-great-grandchildren: Honor, November, and Legacee; a sister-in-law: Barbara Givens of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Shuffett was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Shannon Shuffett Edwards, and Kristopher Shuffett.

The funeral services will be conducted at 2pmCT Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Ashley Shuffett and Bro. Todd Davis officiating. Visitation is requested after 10am until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River, which can be made at the funeral home.

PALLBEARERS: Jon Shuffett, Luke Shuffett, Corbin Shuffett, Tyler Bray, Adam Bloyd, and Eddie Bloyd.
