Cattlemens Association celebrates May Beef Month

On Friday, May 6, 2022, the Adair County Cattlemen's Association hosted a celebration of May Beef Month. Over 300 people were in attendance to enjoy the drive-thru or get-it-go ribeye plate lunch.

May Beef Month celebrates the community of farmers and ranchers who work hard every day to raise safe and nutritious beef that is enjoyed by consumers around the world.

In addition, Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan signed a proclamation declaring May as Beef Month in Adair County, Kentucky.


Proclamation: A Resolution recognizing May 2022 as Beef Month in Adair County, Kentucky.
  • WHEREAS, beef is the second most popular meat in the United states, as Americans eat an average of roughly 57 pounds of beef each year; and

  • WHEREAS, beef production is a multimillion dollar industry in Adair County; and

  • WHEREAS, cattle production is important to the economy of Adair County, and is home to more than 40,000 cattle; and

  • WHEREAS, Adair County is home to approximately 500 farms that produce beef cattle; and

  • WHEREAS, leaders of the Adair County Cattlemen's Association work diligently on behalf of beef producers across the county to promote beef consumption, serve as a resource for information to further educate producers, and develop programs that help farmers produce more beef and increase profitability; and

  • WHEREAS, beef is a great source of ten essential nutrients that support a heart healthy lifestyle, including protein, zinc, iron, and B vitamins, which provide our bodies with the strength to thrive and grow throughout all stages of life; and

  • NOW, THEREFORE, I Gale Cowan Judge Executive of Adair County do hereby proclaim the month of May 2022 be declared Beef Month in Adair County, and I hereby commend all cattle farmers, ranchers, and other agri-business members involved in beef production across Adair County.
