Joseph Edgar (Joe) Veatch, 76, Russell Springs, KY (1945-2022) Joseph Edgar "Joe" Veatch of Russell Springs passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Russell County Hospital. He was 76 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Delvin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Monday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. He was born in Taylor County, KY on September 25, 1945 to the late Frank Edgar and Bertha Nelson Veatch. He was preceded in death by his wives Alice Mae Foster Veatch and Lizzie Harmon Veatch. Joe was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended the Bethel United Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include two children Matthew Lee Veatch (Linda) and Debbie Louise Veatch Bunch (David) both of Russell Springs, KY; step-children Brenda Ballenger (Gary), Lisa Scruggs, Jeff Scruggs and Nathan Scruggs all of Columbia, KY and Selby Shirley of Greensburg; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; seven siblings Mildred Haynes (Raymond) of Campbellsville, KY, Hubert Veatch (Brenda) of Campbellsville, KY, Dolly Flecher (John) of Lagrange, KY, Mary Sprowles (Paul) of Campbellsville, KY, Carl "C. T." Veatch (Ruth) of Edinburgh, IN, Luther Veatch of Campbellsville, KY and Connie Flecher (Dennis) of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives he was preceded in death by a brother Andy Veatch. Pallbearers will be David Bunch, Jared Veatch, Mark Rooks, Bobby Kimbler, Elijah Bunch and Audrey Loy.
