Mary Chambers, 88, Burkesville, KY (1933-2022) Mrs. Mary Ella (Benefield) Chambers of Burkesville passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Cumberland Valley Manor. She was 88 years old. The memorial service for Mrs. Mary Ella (Benefield) Chambers will be conducted on at 3pmET on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Smoke Rise Baptist Church, 5901 Hugh Howell Rd., Stone Mountian, GA, with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. She was born in Ft. Payne, (DeKalb County), Alabama, on Sunday, May 7, 1933, the daughter of Iris Arnold and Tommie Lou (Chandler) Benefield. She was of the Baptist faith, member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mt. Georgia, was an excellent cook, and worked in the lunch room in Cobb County, Georgia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Chambers, whom she wed in 1950, child, Casey Chambers, siblings, Barbara (& Bobby) Stokes, Kenneth (& Geraldine) Benefield, Jerry Benefield, Nancy Durden. She is survived by her son, Adam Chambers of Hall County, Georgia, grandchildren, Crissy Chambers (& Cliff Blalock) of Dallas, Georgia, Alex Chambers of Augusta, Georgia, great-grandchildren, Khole Young, Kaydence Blalock, brother-in-law, Paul Durden of Tucker, Georgia, sister-in-law, Wanda Benefield of Marietta, Georgia, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
