Rachel Davis Smith, 87, Green County, KY (1934-2022) Rachel Davis Smith of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late E.W. "Washie" Davis and Mamie Cook Davis, was born on Wednesday, May 16, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, March 11, 2022. She was 87 years, 9 months, and 26 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She united in marriage to Albert Junior Smith on June 16, 1949 who preceded her in death on November 16, 2009. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gene Allen and Debbie Smith of Louisville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila and Gary Knight of Hart County, and Anissa Bright of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Brad Smith, Jay Smith, Nina Knight, Hannah Fox, and Jon Parrish; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother: Geneva Davis Higgason, Celsie Davis Stewart, Shirley Ann Davis, and Hubert Davis. The funeral services for Rachel Davis Smith will be conducted at 1pmCT Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. Brad Davis officiating. Visitation is requested after 10am at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
