Reminder: Winter Storm Warning begins around 9pmCT

The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, for Adair County will remain in effect from around 9pmCT today until 9amCT on Saturday morning.

Rains are expected to move in starting around 7pmCT tonight. Rapidly dropping temperatures will change the precipitation to a heavy snow sometime around 9pmCT. Forecasts call for accumulation between 3 and 5 inches in south central Kentucky, and travel could be very difficult through Saturday.

In addition, gusty winds between 25 and 30 mph could cause some blowing snow early Saturday morning. Wind chills will drop to the single digits and lower teens Saturday morning, and remain frigid though Saturday night, before temperatures rebound into the high 40s by Sunday.
