Phyllis Carol Browning, 80, Russell Springs, KY (1941-2022) Phyllis Carol Browning of Russell Springs passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was 80 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for NoonCT on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 6pmCT until 8pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home, and will continue after 8amCT on Wednesday, until time for funeral services. Phyllis was born in Russell Springs, on July 12, 1941, daughter of the late Eddie Carl and Mary Davis Wells. She married Bill Browning on September 23, 1967. Phyllis operated her own salon and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was a retired supervisor with Fruit of the Loom, of Jamestown. Phyllis was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, of Russell Springs. Phyllis was a beautiful lady, inside and out; sweet and thoughtful, and always with a quiet grace about her. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Smith, of Russell Springs; her sister, Ida Mae (and C.E.) McKinley, of Byrdstown, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Landon (and Jaysie) Smith, of Somerset, Cianna Smith (and Derek Hall), of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Breanne Smith, of Somerset; her son-in-law, Danny Smith, of Somerset; and many nieces, nephews and friends, all who will miss her greatly. Along with her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, William Samuel "Bill" Browning; her son, Victor Flanagan; her brother, Stanley Wells; and her sister, Nadine McKinley. Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Landon Smith, Derek Hall, Paul Coffey, Billy Wayne McKinley and Doug Miller. Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
