Adair County FFA holds Greenhand Ceremony By Zowi Martin, FFA Member On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Adair County FFA Chapter held its annual Greenhand Ceremony at the Adair County Extension Office. The meeting was opened by the Adair County Senior Officers conducting opening ceremonies. Next, the FFA Sweetheart, Shelby Bradshaw, gave an inspirational devotion and prayer. Tony Rose gave a welcome to the Extension office and told everyone to make themselves at home. Kelly Baird, State FFA Vice President, brought greetings on behalf of the Kentucky Association. Forty Four freshmen were in attendance to receive their Greenhand Pin and Certificate.
The FFA Creed and Quiz Contests were held and Piper Kemp was the winner of both contests. Students and parents heard from Katie Gaskins from the FSA office, talking about youth project loans. Leslie Streeval, representing the FFA Alumni, gave a brief talk about benefits of joining the Alumni. After closing ceremonies, everyone enjoyed a cake and punch reception prepared by the Adair County FFA Junior Officers. This story was posted on 2022-03-03 17:14:32
