John Edward Streeval, 85, 225 John Streeval Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at 12:45 a.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 15, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.


John Edward Streeval was a long time member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He loved to go fishing, camping, and to tell fishing stories.

He was the son of the late Sidney Owen and Mary Susan Cowan Streeval.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Versie Foster Streeval, and the following:
  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: J.R. Streeval, Charlie and Ruth Ann Streeval; and Edward and Joy Streeval, all of Columbia, KY

  • Five daughters and five sons-in-law: Joyce and Alvin Denton, Darlene and Lindon Wray, Loretta and Billy Turner, Connie and Paul Reynolds, and Annetta and Eddie Burton, all of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters and one brother-in-law: Alene and Willie Foster, Columbia, KY; and Savannah Burris, Edinburgh, IN

  • And 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, six great great granchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Streeval was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joan Streeval; one brother, Bobby Streeval; and four sisters, Gustine Childress, Emma Harmon, Annie Burton, and Bertha Streeval.

Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.

Visitation is after 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
